For a business owner, choosing the best Field Service Management (FSM) software solution can be difficult and agonizing. There are many options and features to consider. Two of the biggest players in the FSM space are ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro. Both of these solutions are used by thousands of home service businesses and have awesome features for anyone in need of online booking, scheduling, quoting, invoicing, and more.
Perhaps one of the strongest indicators of a reputable software company is what others have to say about it. In particular, actual users of the software. Let’s start by taking a quick look at the reviews for each company.
Since these are software companies, neither of them has established a Google Business listing---which makes it tough to leave a Google review for them. And both of their Facebook pages don’t allow for Facebook reviews (which is probably intentional on their part). This forces us to look at reviews collected by a third party. ServiceTitan’s pricing is tough to determine as they don’t publish pricing on their website. Sometimes this can be an indicator that the pricing is on the higher side when a company shields their pricing and requires you to complete a demo or schedule a meeting with the sales team. But, here is some information about ServiceTitan pricing.
It is also widely reported that ServiceTitan is not suitable for really small businesses. At one point, ServiceTitan had minimum staffing requirements for their customers. If a home service business had two technicians and one full-time office staff, ServiceTitan would decline their product to businesses of this size. This most likely means that ServiceTitan is better suited for larger companies that can afford their price.
